Is it just a really long hiatus? What's going on here?

What is going on here is this: as part of reviving the BSFFC website I also started a blog just to see what would happen.

If you look at the post history, you can see what happened.

So, now it's happened. I think it's all that's going to happen. But the website remains up, and the meeting reminders still go to the BSFFC LiveJournal community (when I remember to post them).

Happy new year!Julie McGalliardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12379390107770148419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586602661821491273.post-64456633617530676762008-05-24T08:41:00.000-07:002008-05-24T08:44:49.313-07:00Goodbye Robert Lynn AsprinRobert Lynn Asprin, author of (among other things) the MythAdventures books, died on Thursday May 22. More here.

This is the second in a trilogy about Thea Winthrop, begun with Gift of the Unmage.

I highly recommend these books. They are coming of age stories with rich use of Native American mythology and history.

From the description of Gift of the Unmage:

Thea was a Double Seventh: the seventh child of parents who had themselves been seventh children. From birth, great things were expected of her, but magically speaking, she proved a disappointment. Now, with the help of an ancient teacher, Thea has begun to weave herself a new magical identity, infused with elements of the original worlds... but will she find her true self in time to defeat the Nothing that threatens to consume the world?

And Spellspam:

What if e-mail spam suddenly started carrying magic spells? What if a pitch promising a clear complexion gave you transparent skin? Thea Winthrop thought that she was the only one who could do computer magic—but now there's someone else out there who can, and Thea and her friends suddenly find themselves pitted against a vibrant and dangerous mage: Thea's mirror image.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00401305615686499991noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586602661821491273.post-40514842711256830922008-03-14T10:02:00.000-07:002008-03-14T10:03:27.352-07:00Happy Pi Day!www.piday.orgJulie McGalliardhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12379390107770148419noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4586602661821491273.post-84949449995939283502008-03-04T16:00:00.000-08:002008-03-04T16:07:31.159-08:00Thursday Meeting -- March 6 -- Beaver InnRemember, the next meeting is at The Beaver Inn, 1315 N State St, at 7 pm.

It was at the Beav that we determined our lovely and amazing meeting calendar.
